Business Architecture/New Opportunities
Manager MA&S Business Architecture (IT-03) - 2022-05-20
Enterprise architecture (EA) is an analytical discipline that provides methods to comprehensively define, organize, standardize, and document an organization’s structure and interrelationships in terms of certain critical business domains (physical, organizational, technical, etc.) characterizing the entity under analysis. The goal of EA is to create an effective representation of the business enterprise that may be used at all levels of stewardship to guide, optimize, and transform the business as it responds to real-world conditions. EA serves to capture the relationships and interactions between domain elements as described by their processes, functions, applications, events, data, employed technologies, etc.
The section broad mandate is to shape the EA views from an ADM (MAT) perspective. In short, it is concerned with:
- IT-03 will work for section head (IT-04) - reporting to Director – Materiel Systems Plans and Requirements (DMSPR), in support of Director General Materiel Systems and Supply Chain (DGMSSC), to develop the Enterprise Architecture (EA) and the Business Capability Model (BCM) for the Defense Supply Chain (DSC);
- identifying applicable policies, governance structure, suitable architecture principles, standards and domain best practices
- eliciting requirements, strategies, plans and methods to deliver on ADM(MAT) objectives in alignment with the wide DND /CAF Enterprise
- building process and information views to capture domain knowledge, promote re-usability, information integration, propagate change and drive interoperability
- guiding the production of blueprints for supporting IM /IT systems to ensure their alignment and adherence to enterprise standards
- leading the content management of the Qualiware repository from an ADM(MAT) perspective
- last, but not least establishing a performance measurement practice, championing continuous improvement and enterprise maturity
