A GCcollab group was set up to enable information sharing and collaboration in preparation for CANDEV, a data challenge for Canadian students to tackle real-life Government of Canada data challenges. The GCcollab group provided an opportunity for students with different skill sets to virtually connect and form teams. |

I wanted to find a way to integrate my passion for creative writing into government innovation, so I created a GCconnex group called GOC Innovation through Creative Writing," where public servants can communicate innovative ideas through short stories and poetry. The group has been going for a few years now and has expanded onto GCcollab through the group, "Creative Writers." Over 50 pieces of creative writing have been shared in the group. When I left the government to do my master's I handed it off to Scott Stewart in 2018. On a casual contract at ESDC in 2020, I was pleased to find that the group is still active.

The Knowledge Vine engages a broad audience (576 members) on current and emerging tax issues by using infographics to simplify complex topics. Members are exposed to a diverse array of tax related issues to stimulate thought and discussion within the group. This grass-roots initiative is supported by our partner, the Canada Revenue Agency Young Professionals Network (CRA YPN).

The Human Resources Council uses GCconnex as a hub for information to HR Council members and the supporting community. All information about HRC Events, MCC Awards, HR Projects, and Tools/Best Practices is posted there. The HR Council is comprised of all Heads of HR from the core public administration as well as separate agencies and crown corporations. As senior managers in their own departments, HRC members contribute to the achievement of the people management agenda by ensuring that the needs of their organization are met and that their Deputy Head is positioned to fulfill all of his or her responsibilities for people management.
