Dominic Rochon

Dominic Rochon

Chief Information Officer of Canada

Dominic Rochon was appointed Deputy Minister at the Treasure Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) and Chief Information Officer of Canada on February 12th 2024

Before joining TBS, he was Associate Deputy Minister at Transport Canada, following three years as the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister of National Security and Cyber Security at Public Safety Canada. He has also held senior roles in central agencies, including the Privy Council Office and TBS, and with the Communications Security Establishment

Dominic has extensive experience in strategic policy, strategic planning, strategic communications and overseeing a range of operational issues within the Government of Canada

Chief Data Officer at Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

In March 2022, Stephen Burt was appointed Chief Data Officer for the Government of Canada, ant the Treasury Board Secretariat. His mandate is to provide leadership across government on information and data governance and integration, privacy modernization, and data enabled digital services and programs. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Burt was the functional authority for data governance and analytics capability for the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF). He drove the analytics adoption and maturity throughout DND/CAF and led the department wide initiative to establish analytics and data governance.

Il a favorisé l'adoption et la maturité de l'analytique dans l'ensemble du MDN/FAC et a dirigé l'initiative à l'échelle du ministère visant à mettre en place l'analytique et la gouvernance des données.

Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Digital Officer at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada

Shaifa joined the Federal Government in August 2021 as the Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Digital Officer at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Previously she has led digital transformation in Public Sector and Not for Profit including establishing vision and strategic technology direction within a highly complex, political and multi stakeholder environment. Before joining the public sector, Shafia spent her career across multiple industries including Telecommunications, Banking and Consulting. Those invaluable experiences have given her a broad perspective on the critical elements required to drive transformation including focusing on transparency, empathy, building relationships and continuous learning.
