JOB OPENING(S)
The Human Resources Innovation unit (“HRI”) is looking to add a Junior Strategic Foresight Advisor (EC-02) and a Strategic Foresight Advisor (EC-04) to its Strategic Foresight team (“the Team”).
THE GIG
The Team is looking for eager, hardworking Strategic Foresight enthusiasts to come aboard.
This is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in shaping the direction and purpose of a team looking to do and encourage new approaches to how we think and work in the public sector.
As a part of the Team, you will be leading projects, collaborating with colleagues, consulting teams, teaching and training others, and creating accessible resources. You will also have some opportunity to do work beyond Strategic Foresight.
THE HRI
HRI is situated in the Human Resources Service Branch within Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
We are responsible for exploring emergent issues shaping the future of human resources and considering how they will impact the branch and the people it serves.
We do this by co-creating with others, experimenting with new methodologies and practices, and seeking and sharing new ways of working.
THE POSITIONS
POSITION 1:
The Junior Strategic Foresight Advisor (EC-02) is responsible for:
Conducting and analyzing research
Creating and composing reports, power point presentations, policy briefs, and various Strategic Foresight outputs (Weak Signal summaries, Scenarios, etc.)
Facilitating workshops and training exercises
Organizing and coordinating events, newsletters, and other activities
And is:
Bilingual (preferably)
Creative + Collaborative + Innovative
Diligent + Driven
Fun + Funky
Experienced (1-2 years) in analyzing different types of data (user-centred research, quantitative and qualitative data, etc.)
Experienced (1-2 years) in conducting Strategic Foresight projects
Experienced with different design programs (InDesign, PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, etc.)
Comfortable working independently
Comfortable with public speaking
POSITION 2:
The Strategic Foresight Advisor (EC-04) is responsible for:
Conducting and analyzing research
Creating and composing reports, power point presentations, policy briefs, and various Strategic Foresight outputs (Weak Signal summaries, Scenarios, etc.)
Leading and facilitating workshops and training exercises
Leading and designing Strategic Foresight projects
Presenting to colleagues and senior leadership
And is:
Bilingual (preferably)
Creative + Collaborative + Innovative
Diligent + Driven
Fun + Funky
Experienced (2-5 years) in analyzing different types of data (user-centred research, quantitative and qualitative data, etc.)
Experienced (2-5 years) in conducting Strategic Foresight projects.
Experienced with project management, handling high-volume workloads, and meeting multiple deadlines
Experienced mentoring junior colleagues and consulting people unfamiliar with Strategic Foresight
Experienced with different design and presentation programs (InDesign, PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, etc.)
Comfortable working independently
Comfortable advising and presenting to senior leadership
THE DETAILS
Location: These are hybrid-working positions. Meaning, you can work remotely, in-office, or a combination of both.
Term: One-year contract with the option of renewal.
Salary: Varies depending on experience. To get a better idea visit the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
