Updates from Digital Transformation Office (DTO)
Summer schedule is starting today. We do have a coordination meeting on Monday mornings. Standing members are PCO, DTO and PP, but it is open to anyone to coordinate on any situation that might come up. Feel free to reach out to the [inbox] if you want to be included on Monday's coordination meetings.
Web executive board
Next Web executive board meeting is tomorrow:
- CRA will be presenting the design system manual they have been working on in coordination with DTO. Their manual is complementary to the Canada.ca system.
- Feedback from the Web governance survey is positive so far, with some good ideas for improvement. Please provide your feedback if you haven’t already, and we’ll present the results to the group at a future meeting.
●Task Success Survey (TSS) clean-up :
○ Lana Stewart (DTO) and Jade Bourdages (PP) have reached out directly to teams to provide suggestions
○ Feel free to post any questions on Slack channel as your questions may help other people as well
Sweet class action
There is no movement on the Sweet class action yet.
Header update
The updated header guidance went live yesterday.
For the most part this update simply clarifies existing guidance. One significant change is the addition of criteria around when you can remove the theme and topic menu from certain pages. We’ve also clarified that the search box can be contextualized at the institution level. Finally, we’ve streamlined each section for consistency among patterns and templates and included policy rationale and research where applicable.

Public Safety
Wildfires page has more traffic when there is smoke advisory. HC helped to add structured data and the page is being updated as required. The team is supporting the Emergency Communications colleagues. Meetings went from 3 times a week to 2 times a week..
ECCC Web corporate
● New strategy for how to adapt to climate change, wildfires, and building resiliency
● Launch was yesterday on Facebook live
● Canada’s National Adaptation Strategy : Building Resilient Communities and a Strong Economy
Pacifican
● Developed a geomap to visualize over 200 announced projects
● It's called Map of PacifiCan investments and will be online soon
○GeoGratis supported the bilingual mapping
○Useful for internal and external products
○ Working on consistency and colour use to improve accessibility
A/B testing would be useful to test accessibility and help identify when a map is the best choice vs simply providing a list

●Canada Dental Benefit period 2 starts on July 1st
● Scheduled to be published at 6am
PCO
●Promotional banners for July, August and September
○ UN declaration on the rights of Indigenous peoples banner is up now
○ Canada day will go up live on Friday
