Introduction

As part of its work on engaging Canadians as global citizens – also referred to as public engagement (PE) - the Engaging Canadians bureau of the Partnership for Development Innovation branch of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has established this External Advisory Committee (EXAC) to leverage external expertise in the development of government approaches to the topic. The concept of an advisory councils was supported by a range of civil society organization (CSO) stakeholders as a means of supporting knowledge sharing and problem solving among Canada’s intentional assistance sector and GAC on PE.
