The IT Apprenticeship Program for Indigenous Peoples is a Government of Canada initiative specifically for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. It is pathway to employment in the federal public service for Indigenous peoples who have a passion for Information Technology (IT).[[File:ITAPstrategy.png|alt=THE STRATEGY In collaboration with the IT Apprenticeship Program for Indigenous Peoples, the Indigenous Talent Portal will begin with a focus on IT and technology talent, which will:    HIGH DEMAND Address the great demand for Indigenous talent in IT. GROW Allow for growth in its recruitment scope by targeting other occupational areas in the future. ASSESS Allow for data and feedback to be collected and leveraged to improve the service. LAUNCH The program launched in the early half of 2023.|center|frameless|600x600px]]By valuing and focusing on a person’s potential, rather than on their educational attainment level, the program removes one of the biggest barriers that exists when it comes to employment within the digital economy. The program has been developed by, with, and for Indigenous peoples from across Canada. Its design incorporates the preferences and needs of Indigenous learners while recognizing the importance of community.

PC has been using an online reservation system for its overnight camping offer for the last 20 years. Over the years, the system has grown to become an integral part of its operations. Visitors can book from over 11,000 campsites and roofed accommodations to secure their stay in some of Canada’s most popular places. They can reserve a parking space, a guided hike through the Rockies, or a seat in a shuttle bus. Furthermore, our reservation system has now become an essential tool for park management. People are welcomed more efficiently. Congestion is reduced since even visitors without a reservation arrive with proper expectations of what is available. Safety is improved for staff, with fewer cash transactions, for visitors, through key safety messages, and during emergency situations during which staff can quickly pull reports of everyone in campgrounds and in the backcountry.

A contract was recently awarded to provide Parks Canada with the third generation of its reservation system. This updated version aims at meeting today’s and coming visitor’s need, expanding the online offer, centralizing it in one place, as well as integrating new functionalities to further support our operations.
