SharePoint notifications are currently only sent out in the set language of the SharePoint site. It not possible to send notifications in both English and French.
Message from Microsoft: “Please note that while SharePoint allows for content to be displayed in multiple languages, the email notifications may still be sent in the default language of the site.

===Issue with translated name of Viva Learning===

The inspiration library (under the Wellbeing tab) in Viva Insights is only available in English in the Teams and online versions. In addition, in Teams, the Viva Insights app is properly translated into French (“Recommandations Viva”) in the app store but maintains the name Viva Insights on the top left. Online, in French, the application is still called Viva Insights.

===Viva Learning change: Default language issue===
====Description====
The only options in the Viva Learning admin screen are 1) setting a default language, and 2) displaying content in the language selected by the user as well as the default language.
This means that someone whose selected language is French will see learning content in both French and English – with no option to filter by language. Viva Learning should offer an admin option to display content in a default language or in the language selected by the user (M365 display).

====Description====
When a user joins a private group, they receive an email with a bilingual title. However, the body text is only in English – even if the user's device is set to French only. The user should receive all email content in French.

Automated notifications about a newly joined group or team are not received in the user’s preferred language – even if the user has their profile set to French.

When an update come through, it removes the language settings of end users. Microsoft updates are managed by Microsoft and do not allow admins to deploy updates through any delivery mechanism. A request has been created to give admins the ability to deploy updates through some kind of delivery mechanism.
