Searching the LC database is not a NACO requirement. NACO catalogers may provide a 670 field with an "LC database" citation but should do so only if the information provides additional support for the formulation of the 1XX, etc. If citing an access point labelled “[from old catalog]”, remember to include that label in the citation (for more information, see the FAQ on these access points).
