It is intended for persons responsible for Part VII of the OLA to guide and support federal institutions in carrying out their mandates. Roles and Responsibilities of the Person Responsible for Part VII of the Official Languages Act (OLA) This document explains the roles and responsibilities of the persons responsible for Part VII of the OLA (PRP7) in supporting federal institutions in meeting the federal government's commitments set out in sections 41 and 41.1 of the OLA. It also includes suggestions for action and best practices to support federal institutions in advancing the implementation of Part VII. It is up to each federal institution to determine the specific roles and responsibilities of its PRP7. Guidelines for dialogue and consultation activities with official language minority communities (OLMC) and other stakeholders in Official Languages This tool provides guidance to support federal institutions in organizing dialogue and consultation activities with OLMCs and key stakeholders on issues related to official languages. It is intended specifically for those responsible for Part VII of the Official Languages Act, the official languages champion, and those responsible for planning dialogue and consultation activities. Organizations representing official language minority communities and key stakeholders working to enhance English and French in Canadian society As part of the implementation of the commitments set out in section 41 of the OLA by federal institutions, it is essential to be familiar with the organizations representing Canada's English- and French-speaking minorities, as well as those working to protect the French language or promote French and English within Canadian society. This document, intended for those responsible for Part VII of the OLA within federal institutions, presents a selection of these organizations in order to provide a starting point for identifying official language stakeholders. Guide for the analysis of the potential to take positive measures and impacts of structuring decisions This tool is intended to support federal institutions in implementing Part VII of the OLA, specifically with respect to conducting analyses of the potential for positive measures and the impacts of structuring decisions. It aims to: provide guidance for conducting the analyses required under subsection 41(7) of the OLA; explain the applicable legislative context; present the main elements to be considered in these analyses; propose questions for reflection to guide the conduct of the analyses. Self-assessment tool for federal institutions on the implementation of Section 41 of the Official Languages Act (OLA) This tool was designed to help federal institutions analyze their institutional practices that contribute to the implementation of section 41 of the Official Languages Act. It provides federal institutions with a method for identifying their strengths and weaknesses and offers them concrete solutions for improving their practices.
