===Spotlight on Managers' Advice===
Our latest session in the '''''Top 3 Things Managers Should Know About…''''' series drew a strong turnout of managers from across the country. Participants described the session as '''''inspiring, useful, encouraging, and timely'''''.<blockquote>'''''“I love this series — once again this session was super informational and practical. I truly feel I learned something and have tools that I can carry forward.”''' feedback from a participant''</blockquote>A big thank you to our speaker, '''Elizabeth Blanchard, who presented on Change leadership''', her honesty, expertise, and personal insights truly resonated.
+
Last month, we asked managers: ''“What piece of advice or best resource would you share with other managers?”.'' Your responses were thoughtful and grounded in experience. Common themes highlighted the realities of leadership today:

We also had a great turnout for the CSPS virtual event '''“Empowering Managers to Overcome Imposter Syndrome” with Dr. Katy Kamkar'''. Don’t miss the chance to see her in person at some of our upcoming Managers Connect regional days!
+
* '''Self-care and resilience:''' Recharge, set boundaries, build networks, and celebrate progress; big or small.
 +
* '''Communicate and listen:''' Lead with empathy and transparency.
 +
* '''Be efficient:''' Coordinate, streamline, and focus on what you can control.

Stay engaged and take part in our '''monthly Check-In Question''', your feedback helps us continue to shape relevant, practical sessions that reflect the real challenges managers face.
+
Managers also emphasized well-being, strong communication, and connection. Many highlighted the value of '''peer networks''' and encouraged using resources like '''EAP, Copilot and other AI tools, GCXchange''', and professional development usefull links.

===NMC Virtual Leadership Panel : Navigating Senior Leaders’ Expectations===
The Canadian Innovation Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace is proud to welcome '''Tara Adams''' to deliver the '''Leader Conversations''' session.

 +
Join our '''virtual panel: Navigating Senior Leaders’ Expectations,''' a top priority identified by over 1,000 managers in our ''June Monthly Check-in question''.

As conversations about mental health become more common both in general and at work, leaders face the challenge of reducing stigma, modeling positive behaviours and creating psychologically safe environments. This need is urgent as research shows that employers, leaders, and employees are all experiencing increased rates of declining mental health in the workplace.
+
Uncertainty, shifting priorities, and limited influence are realities for many managers. That’s why we’re bringing together '''seasoned senior leaders,''' in both official languages, to share how they:  ✅ Balance competing expectations ;  ✅ Communicate priorities clearly; and ✅ Empower managers to lead with confidence

This session offers best practices for people leaders to facilitate both team and one-on-one conversations that build trust, empathy and psychological safety.
