===Our 2024–2025 NMC Annual Report Is Available!===

We’re excited to share the latest '''NMC Annual Report to the Clerk''', marking another milestone in our journey to support managers across the federal public service.

Over the past year, we’ve continued to connect, engage, and support thousands of managers, supervisors, and aspiring leaders from departments and agencies across the country. From the success of our in-person events and national virtual sessions to the steady growth of our membership, which now includes over 14,000 managers, every initiative reflects our commitment to building a strong, inclusive, and forward-thinking community.
+
=== Navigating Fall Challenges: Share Your Perspective on AI ===
 +
As fall 2025 settles in with its renewed energy, it’s a great time to pause and reflect. The season often brings shifting priorities, a heavier workload, and the challenge of keeping teams aligned after the summer break. Small actions, like checking in with your team, setting clear priorities, and leveraging available tools can make a big difference. And remember, the NMC community is here to support you.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to mark the 25th anniversary of the NMC, a meaningful milestone that reaffirms our purpose and deepens our commitment to the manager community.
+
This month, we’re bringing back the '''NMC Monthly Insight Question''', a simple way to check in on managers’ realities and spark meaningful conversations across departments. In June, many of you highlighted ''“Understanding and leveraging AI tools”'' as a top leadership priority. With AI on everyone’s mind, the NMC is exploring sessions to support managers where it’s needed most.

As our Champion, Arun Thangaraj, puts it: ''“Networks like the NMC help us stay focused on our purpose—especially through change and uncertainty.”''
+
To help us move forward this month, we’re asking:

📄 '''[https://publications.gc.ca/collections/collection_2025/sct-tbs/BT1-17-2025-eng.pdf Read the full report here]'''<div style="text-align: right;">

📊 '''[https://forms.office.com/r/WFhDHrQa88 How confident do you feel about integrating AI tools into your team's work and which aspects of AI would be most valuable for your growth as a manager?]'''
 +

 +
And if you’re curious, you can also revisit some of the insightful responses from the [[Communauté nationale des gestionnaires (CNG) / Infolettre de la CNG / Août 2025#Ce%20que%20vous%20nous%20avez%20dit%20.E2.80.93%20R.C3.A9sultats%20du%20point%20de%20vue%20des%20gestionnaires%20de%20juillet|previous editions]].<div style="text-align: right;">

===We're Hiring: Atlantic Regional Lead National Managers’ Community (NMC)===
In our July Managers "Check-In", we asked: ''What would help you feel more connected to other managers in the public service?'' Your responses were clear.[[File:NMC managers Connection survey july.png|alt=NMC July Pulse survey results table|right|frameless|677x677px|NMC July Pulse survey results table]]'''Regional in-person events''' topped the list, showing a strong appetite for authentic, face-to-face networking. You also emphasized the value of '''mentorship''', '''collaborative projects''', and '''small-group discussions''' to build meaningful '''cross-departmental''' connections.
+
Ready to lead, connect, and innovate across the Public Service? The NMC is seeking a passionate Regional Lead for the Atlantic Region to join our vibrant cross-Canada team!

Several comments also called for greater '''senior leader engagement and support''', as well as short informal opportunities to connect like '''coffee chat''', '''lunch-and-learns''' and '''5 à 7s'''.
+
* 2-year secondment at AS-05 level (or equivalent)

These results reinforce a key message: managers want more opportunities to connect authentically, exchange ideas, and learn together, especially in person.
+
* Must be able to work from the Moncton or Halifax [https://www.csps-efpc.gc.ca/contact_us/campuses-eng.aspx CSPS office]

This feedback is especially valuable as we work to increase in person participation and gain more senior leader support for managers to take time to connect. Your input will help us guide where we focus time and resources.

* Travel and occasional overtime required

The National Managers' Community (NMC) is pleased to offer you a day of professional development and exchange, on '''October 22, 2025''' at the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) offices at 1035 Saint-Jacques Street, Montreal.
Now more than ever, managers need free access to safe, supportive spaces to learn and solve real challenges together. This month, the NMC is promoting the peer-based initiative '''Co-development Groups''' (Québec Region only).

Groups bring together managers from across departments, guided by trained facilitators, to support a peer through real-life work challenges. The initiative shares a foundation of confidentiality, respect, and collective learning but differ in their approach:

🔹 '''Co-development''' has a mentoring approach. Participants ask questions and offer advice based on their experience with an emphasis on reflection and shared insights. Sessions last 2 hours monthly (October to June).
+
This event, themes '''"Leadership in Uncertain Times",''' will immerse you in a world of learning, reflection, and collaboration. On the program: a workshop on difficult conversations in times of change led by '''Marine Agogué''', Director of the Pierre Péladeau, Leadership and Management Centre at Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) Montreal and her team. '''Interested to grow with your peers?'''  Register now. '''The deadline for registration is September 12, 2025:'''

In the afternoon, a panel of executives will share insights on managerial courage and resilience, followed by '''co-development groups''' using collective intelligence to address common challenges. The day will conclude with informal networking — a great opportunity to connect and continue the discussions.

Navigating Fall Challenges: Share Your Perspective on AI

As fall 2025 settles in with its renewed energy, it’s a great time to pause and reflect. The season often brings shifting priorities, a heavier workload, and the challenge of keeping teams aligned after the summer break. Small actions, like checking in with your team, setting clear priorities, and leveraging available tools can make a big difference. And remember, the NMC community is here to support you.

This month, we’re bringing back the NMC Monthly Insight Question, a simple way to check in on managers’ realities and spark meaningful conversations across departments. In June, many of you highlighted “Understanding and leveraging AI tools” as a top leadership priority. With AI on everyone’s mind, the NMC is exploring sessions to support managers where it’s needed most.

To help us move forward this month, we’re asking:

📊 How confident do you feel about integrating AI tools into your team's work and which aspects of AI would be most valuable for your growth as a manager?

And if you’re curious, you can also revisit some of the insightful responses from the previous editions.
