Employee mobility is the movement of people in an organization. This can be triggered by the needs of the employer or the employee. There are many considerations and challenges to finding optimal mechanisms and processes associated with the movement of people, especially as the size and mandate of an organization increase. Organization can be defined in different ways, from the micro level (work unit) to the very macro level - in the public sector, national and international governments. In Canada, the public sector is divided in several jurisdictions; the challenges in providing opportunities for employee mobility are inter and intra-jurisdictional.
