Digital Transformation Office (DTO)

  • GCWP meetings

Will continue to have Monday and Wednesday meetings. Mondays are roundtable format, Wednesday is for knowledge sharing and any other updates. We will cancel Wednesday meetings whenever they aren’t needed. You can share any updates you have at either meeting.

  • Federal-Provincial-Territorial (FPT) working group

FPT meeting is next week. It will be the first in 2023. Next week is on metadata, taxonomy and tagging. You can join if you’re interested or want to share what you’re doing.

  • Fraudulent sites

If you spot a fraudulent website trying to imitate a Government of Canada site you can let DTO know and also report it to the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security.

Privy Council Office (PCO)

Housing page is ready to go, aiming to launch at the end of the month. Great inter-departmental collaboration. The working group has an inventory so if you have anything to add you can put it in the Slack channel about housing.

Reminder: Please don’t use ChatGPT to create web content/strategies. It needs human finessing and approval.

Principal Publisher

We have updated the wording in the Report a Problem (RAP) tool. RAP is eventually slated for replacement by the new page feedback tool.

Health

  • Joint announcement happening at the end of the month about granting of a three-year exemption under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) to remove criminal penalties for people who possess a small amount of certain illicit substances for personal use - this exemption will be in effect from Jan. 31, 2023 to Jan. 31, 2026, throughout British Columbia
  • Pfzier booster authorization has been approved for ages 12-17

ISED

Working on Drupal migration of intranet

Roundtable

Should we be updating links in old news releases when they’re broken?

  • This requires more discussion about when it’s appropriate to update a link in a news release and how to do it properly
  • It’s a good idea to visit the pages to check why the links are broken because in some cases they are broken because they were coded wrong (i.e. AEM relative links)
