CSPS Digital Academy is developing a roster of teaching assistants (TAs) to support Digital Academy Premium learners during their lab and in-class session.
You’d be a great fit.
CSPS Digital Academy
The CSPS Digital Academy will ensure that Canada’s public service is prepared for the digital age. The Academy includes:
- Foundational learning for all public servants
- Digital solutions for executives
- Premium specialist streams for practitioners to build organizational capacity and become specialists in training—this is where we’re looking for TA support.
Designed for practitioners, the Digital Academy Premium pilot includes four topic streams to create specialists in training:
- Data
- Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)
- Design
- Development and Operations (DevOps).
The Teaching Assistant Role
- TA opportunities for each Digital Academy Premium stream
- Requires a commitment of one-to-three hours on the Thursdays that work best for your schedule and skill set (from Thursday, February 28, until Thursday, May 2). There will also be labs/workshops on other days every month or so
- Skills required depend on the stream:
- Data: experience in R and/or Python.
- AI/ML: experience in R and/or Python.
- DevOps: seasoned developer or systems, database, or cloud administrator. Ample experience in the DevOps model (front end, back end or full stack) and working in the open with Github and public cloud infrastructure.
- Design: background in at least one of the following:
- Design research
- Service design
- User interface (UI) design
- Content design
- Prototyping
- Design ethics
- Accessibility
- Will be based at the John G. Diefenbaker Building, 111 Sussex Dr., Ottawa, ON.
All TAs will be prepped with information that will be covered during their respective in-class sessions. Note that there are roughly 15 learners per stream who are from diverse organizations, levels, and classifications across the GC.
I’m in - what’s next?
Great — let us know which stream you’re interested in, and in 300 words or less, tell us why you would make a great Digital Academy TA. If you’d like, send any relevant work samples, too.
