About the EACRC's Initial Term
In 2018, the EACRC was formed to help ministers and regulators modernize Canada’s regulatory system into one that further enables investment and catalyzes innovation.
During its initial term, which ran from 2019 to 2021, the EACRC:
- Provided advice on how to improve regulatory competitiveness in Canada;
- Brought together business, academics and consumer representatives from across the country to provide an independent perspective on regulatory barriers to business success; and
- Helped identify opportunities to improve regulatory frameworks while protecting health, security, safety, and the environment.
Budget 2021 announced the renewal of the EACRC until 2023.
