New contract! New start!

If you are a new student, check before the "New Student" page.

During your student contract Share your interests and career goals with your manager/supervisor. Put in plan a work plan with your manager/supervisor (your tasks). This is YOUR work term. Please don’t be shy to openly discuss with your manager. Review your Outlook signature (Standard on Email Management) and add your working hours! Add your new working hours in your Outlook calendar. Take a look at your intranet page to rediscover your department (priorities, deputy ministers, your organizational structure). Get through the Directive on Terms and Conditions of Employment for Students- Canada.ca (tbs-sct.gc.ca) Update your GCconnex and GCcollab account Create/Update your LinkedIn professionnel account to do some networking. Share your account on GC Students Slack group! On LinkedIn, add the other students who have shared their profile. Participate at the activities (GC Students, Federal Youth Network (FYN)) and be active on GC Students Slack group. Work Plan Template This work plan is a template to encourage students to structure their work contract. The purpose of the work plan is to identify tasks that will be assigned to you and to ensure that you have meaningful and sufficient tasks that will allow you to learn and contribute to the objectives of the organization. The work plan is also intended to allow you to express yourself openly and provide feedback to your manager. Students hold a very important place in the Government of Canada (GC) and we want your work experience to be as rewarding as possible.
