=== June is National Indigenous History Month, and this year marks the 25th anniversary of National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21 (and the 26th anniversary of provincial celebrations in Alberta). ===
==== Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada’s Communications team has collaborated with National Indigenous Organizations and other government departments to provide a public web kit that encourages celebration through learning launching June 1. ====
The kit, ''Celebrating National Indigenous History Month'', lists various resources for all ages that support awareness and learning opportunities related to First Nations, Inuit and Métis cultures, languages and knowledge for all peoples living in Canada. Everyone is encouraged to engage in the way they learn best—reading, watching, listening and trying some of the more multimedia or hands on-activities.
We have also developed an '''internal toolkit,''' launching today, which contains social media templates and other resources directed toward public servants, such as recommended courses, template messages and much more. The internal toolkit is an evergreen document that will be updated until June 21 and shares links to shareables that can be tailored to your Department’s needs and calls to action. We encourage you to take a look and see what we have developed. We hope you can share these resources with your colleagues and join the celebrations!
