Official Languages Centre of Excellence - Who are we?


The Official Languages Centre of Excellence (OLCE) is a policy centre within the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO) at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS).

The OLCE:

  • provides advice, guidance and support to federal institutions on how to implement Parts IV, V and VI of the Official Languages Act;
  • develops policies related to Part IV, Part V and Part VI of the Official Languages Act (OLA) for the consideration and approval of the Treasury Board;
  • prepares draft regulations pursuant to Parts IV, V and VI, at the Minister’s request; and
  • monitors OL through the Annual Review on OL and prepares the Annual Report on Official Languages, which the President of Treasury Board submits to Parliament.
