FYN In Person Learning Days

Description

This interactive full‑day event invites participants to pause, reflect, and re‑energize their professional journey. Throughout the day, participants will explore current realities across the Government of Canada, strengthen their ability to create positive and inclusive work environments, and develop a practical action plan to support their career growth.

By the end of the day, participants will be able to:

  • Gain a clearer understanding of the current GC work environment
  • Demonstrate strategies for creating positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplaces
  • Define concrete next steps for professional growth
  • Build connections and expand professional networks

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Finding Your Place in the Public Service: Realities, Successes, and Purpose


Description: This workshop introduces participants to the current GC work environment by acknowledging the current challenges and highlighting recent successes and positive impact.


Objectives:

  • Describe the current GC work environment
  • Recognize the value of early‑career contributions
  • Reflect on personal values, interests, and motivations
  • Understand how their role connects to public‑service goals and their own career journey.
Working Well Together


Description: During this workshop, participants will build the skills needed to contribute to positive, inclusive workplaces.


Objectives:

  • Identify what contributes to a positive and respectful work environment
  • Understand generational differences and similarities
  • Apply practical strategies for working effectively with others
  • Develop confidence in navigating workplace dynamics
Shaping Your Path


Description: Participants will explore how to identify career goals and growth opportunities within the GC.


Objectives:

  • Identify their current skills, strengths, and development areas
  • Explore career possibilities and learning opportunities within the GC.
  • Set achievable short‑term career development goals
  • Create a personalized and practical career action plan
Speed Mentoring:


Description: Participate in four 15-minute rounds of speed mentoring with experienced professionals.
