Welcome to Real Property, Assets, and Fleet Management

The Real Property, Assets, and Fleet Management team ensures the effective management, oversight, and support of the department’s physical assets and vehicle fleet. Our role is to implement policies, provide expert advice, and deliver services that align with departmental and Treasury Board requirements.

We are committed to maintaining the integrity and accountability of the department’s real property, material assets, and fleet through best practices, lifecycle management, and operational support.

Our Mandate

Our team develops, implements, and maintains departmental policies and procedures for the management of real property, assets, and the fleet. We provide strategic advice and operational support to ensure compliance with federal legislation, policies, and departmental objectives.

Our Key Activities

Real Property Management

  • Develop, maintain, and provide advice on real property policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support for real property projects, including:
    • Divestiture projects
    • Operations and maintenance (O&M) projects
  • Offer advice on the interpretation and application of real property policies.
  • Coordinate ISC and CIRNAC responses to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Notices of Excess Federal Real Property.
  • Respond to requests from other government departments related to Aboriginal Titles and Rights in the context of federal property disposal processes.

Asset Management

  • Support the management of:
    • Capital assets valued at $10,000 or more.
    • Non-capital assets valued under $10,000.
  • Maintain accurate asset records in the SAP Financial System.
  • Provide SAP user training to ensure consistent asset management practices across the department.

Fleet Management

  • Support the entire fleet management lifecycle, including:
    • Planning
    • Acquisition
    • Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
    • Disposal
  • Ensure the departmental vehicle fleet is managed in accordance with government policies and sustainability objectives.
