Priyanka Sharma (Elle/She/Her)
Human Resources Advisor at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and GC Students Co-Chair
Priyanka Sharma (Elle/She/Her), is a Human Resources Advisor for the Employee Experience Team at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and is also the co-chair of GC Students under the Federal Youth Network (FYN). At IRCC she works on the student initiatives file to support students with their onboarding, retention and advancement.
Priyanka joined the Federal Public Service as a student in 2019 and bridged into a full time position in 2020. She began her career at National Defence (DND) where she had the opportunity to develop and support the Student Onboarding Program. In mid 2021 she moved over to ESDC and with her passion for recruitment and advancement of students, she has continued to work with student onboarding. As of June 2023 she continues to support students across the GC with her role in GC Students as well as continue supporting students at IRCC. On her spare time, she loves to bake desserts and pastries, watch movies and go on outdoor adventures (in the summer).

Yangwei Xiong (he/him/il)
Project Assistant at the Federal Youth Network and GC Students Project Assistant
Yangwei is currently a Project Assistant with the Federal Youth Network (FYN). Before joining the FYN, Yangwei worked as a student in various roles at the Canada Revenue Agency, Employment and Social Development Canada and the Canada School of Public Service. As a former student who has benefited from Federal Youth Network programming, he is committed to ensuring that current and future public servants have the skills needed to succeed in the rapidly changing workforce. Yangwei holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and is an avid traveller, completing his final semester in Iceland and spending five months travelling to 24 countries throughout Europe.

Policy Analyst at the Office of Life Sciences and Biomanufacturing Readiness (OLSBR) and GC Student Executive Assistant
Arlette A. Kasongo currently works as a Policy Analyst at OLSBR within Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) where she conducts extensive research on current trends, challenges and opportunities in the life science and biomanufacturing sectors. Beyond her professional pursuits, Arlette is the Executive Assistant of GC Student under the Federal Youth Network (FYN). She began her career in the public service as a student in 2023 and is committed to supporting the student network by assisting with the logistics and administrative tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the network. Arlette holds a Master’s of Biochemistry degree from the University of Ottawa and a College certificate in Clinical Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician from Algonquin Careers Academy. On her spare time, she loves playing piano, traveling and cooking.

Audrey-Anne Racine (Elle/She/Her)
Senior Human Resources Advisor at the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC) and GC Students Advisor
Audrey-Anne Racine (Elle/She/Her) works as a Senior Human Resources Advisor at the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC) since August 2023. Her tasks are mainly focused on human resources (HR) planning, equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI) and accessibility. She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial relations and human resources and a master's degree in project management from the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO). Audrey-Anne began her career in the public service as a student in 2019 at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), then she became a public servant through the student bridging process in 2021. She worked from 2020 to 2023 at Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) as a student worker, casual worker and public servant. She was responsible for national student onboarding and retention and the recruitment processes of employment equity (EE) groups. She was Co-Chair of GC Students under the Federal Youth Network (FYN) from 2021 to 2023. With her motivation, creativity and commitment, she reestablished the student network by promoting interdepartmental collaboration and equal access to resources for all students. She strongly believes in collaboration and interdepartmental teamwork. Her greatest motivation at work is to help future generations of workers and employees better understand concepts related to human resources (HR).

Project Officer for the Federal Youth Network and GC Students Advisor
Alexa Iachelli is a Project Officer for the Federal Youth Network at Indigenous Services Canada, where she uses her skills to coordinate events, write communications, and design products. Her passion for languages and collaboration led her to study in Venice, Italy, for a semester in 2018. Alexa never stops building meaningful connections with others, learning from them, and exploring everything the world has to offer.

GC Students Network sits under the Federal Youth Network (FYN)
The Federal Youth Network (FYN) was established in 2002. It is a national network for young and new public servants in Canada. They encourage and promote engagement, innovation and career development through in-person and virtual programs like the Virtual Learning Series and Career Boot Camp.
In 2021, the Federal Youth Network (FYN) rebooted the Interdepartmental Student Committee (IEC) and renamed it GC Students.

The GC Students Network is made up of a committee of student representatives from various departments of the Government of Canada.
