Tips to update your web content + pre-departure material

⬅️ Back to the safe travel wiki for educators

Our team offers stakeholders suggestions for their web content. This includes proposed edits of existing pages that mention the Government of Canada for accuracy and ideas to complement your information, by including our resources where applicable. We've outlined some of our top tips below should you wish to get started on your own and more details on how we can help.

1 - Referencing our department

Please update the title of our department from Foreign Affairs Canada to Global Affairs Canada

2 - Remove mention of “The travel smart app”

Unfortunately, this application no longer exists. Instead, please direct users to travel.gc.ca/youth for the suite of resources tailored to their needs.

3 - Remove mention of “Her own way-- a Woman’s safe-travel guide

This publication was removed in 2022 and replaced by our webpage: Advice for women travellers. If the publication is mentioned in any of your materials, please replace the hyperlink and title with the updated webpage.

We can help!

If you have pre-departure materials you would like us to review, please reach out to: outreach.sensibilisation@international.gc.ca.

Depending on the number of materials, you may need to share a link to a cloud drive. However, if you are only sharing a few documents, please feel free to attach them.

If you would like us to add our information to a public facing webpage, please copy the text into a Microsoft Word document and we will add our proposed changes to it tracked.

We will confirm receipt and provide an estimated timeframe of when you can expect to receive our input.
