Welcome to the safe travel wiki for educators!

About this page

We are the Consular and Emergency Communications team dedicated to increasing Canadians’ awareness and understanding of the Government of Canada’s information, advice, services and tools on travelling safely abroad. We hope this wiki is a helpful tool to foster engagement with your institution.

Ultimately, our ongoing collaboration would ensure faculty and students travelling abroad know how to access Government of Canada official advice and information, as well as gain a greater understanding of the support available to Canadians abroad.

We can help your institution by:

  • Delivering pre-departure webinars, or in person presentations, of approximately 30 minutes with a Q&A period after, on the following topics:
  • Guiding you through the use our website Travel.gc.ca - to prepare for travelling or living abroad.
  • Increasing your understanding of the Travel Advice and Advisories provided by the Government of Canada.
  • Explaining the consular services available to Canadians abroad, including emergency assistance.
  • Providing digital tools available to Canadians to access updated travel and consular information, including our Registration of Canadians abroad service.
  • Recommending information and content to complement existing international travel resources, including those listed on each institutional website.
  • Sharing copies of our flagship publications to include in any pre-departure kit you provide to students and faculty.
