The overarching goal of the CPHO Reporting Modernizing project is to augment the utility and impact of the CPHO’s health of Canadians reporting mechanisms. The project will employ a step-wise collaborative approach and is expected to directly contribute to larger public health data modernization efforts undertaken by the Agency. The Working Group Collaborative will lead the planning and execution of the project to ensure meeting of project objectives and alignment with existing organizational data frameworks, whenever possible. The project is expected to promote the standardization of indicators and analysis approaches, more predictable workloads for surveillance teams, higher quality of deliverables and harmonious working relationships amongst the implicated project teams.

The group’s mandate includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks and responsibilities:
* Develop a detailed project plan, including objectives, deliverables and timelines.
* Manage completion of project deliverables:
# Develop and implement streamlined processes and/or methodologies for indicator updates and core analyses.
# Ensure timely review and update of indicators, as required.
# Ensure timely completion of core analyses (i.e., trend analysis, international benchmarking).
# Compile, interpret and report indicator and/or analysis results.
# Identify and report on emerging public health trends (i.e., positive and negative)
# Identify and report relevant health inequities.
# Propose, execute and report on special studies.
# Identify, design and implement dashboard enhancements, such as improved data visualizations.
* Translate and implement confirmed project priorities and change requests.
* Prepare agenda items for Governance Committee meetings.
* Identify and respond to internal project risks and opportunities.
* Critically review Health of Canadians draft.
* Perform quality assurance of dashboard results.
* Perform project evaluation.

Working Group Structure and Culture
• The group is chaired by the OCPHO Manager, Marie Chia. Group members include management and senior professional level representatives from the implicated project partners.
• Meetings are convened at a periodic basis (e.g., biweekly) and at key project milestones.
• As group members are located at different PHAC offices/Agencies, meetings will be held virtually by teleconference or videoconference (i.e., Zoom).
• Full member attendance is encouraged but not strictly required for each meeting. Quorum includes OCPHO and representatives from implicated Program Branches and Data Hub, as per respective meeting agenda items.
• Meeting minutes are used to track and endorse key discussion points, action items and decisions.
• Materials will be shared by email and/or a common platform (e.g., GCwiki).
• Delegates can replace group members, as applicable, and non-committee members may be invited for the discussion of specific agenda items.
• Group members are not expected to execute all project deliverables. Rather, they are tasked with making sure the deliverables are completed by the most appropriate subject matter expert in their Branch/unit.
