Phase 1 (Official GC Social Media Account Inventory): Led by the Principal Publisher, this exercise will serve to confirm and update the list of official Government of Canada social media channels. This effort will be completed by October 17, 2023, and each Head of Communications will need to attest to the list of Official Channels for their respective department or agency.

The Principal Publisher’s social media team will be reaching out to all Departmental Administrators (DAs) in the coming days. If your organization does not have a DA, or for any questions on this process, please reach out to Principal Publisher at NC-GOC-SOCIALMEDIA-MEDIASSOCIAUX-GD@servicecanada.gc.ca.

Phase 2 (Departmental Social Media Strategy – Review and Update):

Over the next few months we are asking that Heads of Communications work within their organizations to review the current use of social media channels, to take stock and assess their effectiveness, and revise and adjust their strategies and approaches accordingly to ensure that they will serve to support strategic objectives moving forward.

Page Feedback Tool (PFT) Presentation: PFT Only use this on pages where you plan to action the feedback.

There's guidance here: https://design.canada.ca/feedback/index.html and when to use it here: https://design.canada.ca/feedback/when.html

We will be sending out messages in October when we launch the new version.

Roundtable

NRCan

Ukraine conference to be included on the Ukraine page

Health Canada

If anyone wants to see what we’re doing for the Health theme please reach out to Patricia Lamothe and we would be happy to share.

CRA

Looking at purchasing icons of flags to identify provincial and territorial content, if we do we will look at sharing with all of the GC. We are also running into content design issues because all provinces and territories have one rule, except Quebec. So how do we identify this? Will move this conversation to the Content Design channel in Slack. https://gc-web-comms.slack.com/archives/C018SF3J4KF

Analytics Awards:

We do digital analytics awards. We did the second session in September. CSPS, Veterans Affairs Canada, Transport Canada all won awards. If you would like to know about submissions or upcoming ceremonies please visit: https://www.gcpedia.gc.ca/wiki/GC_Digital_Analytics_Awards

DTO

Will follow-up on what is happening with the Twitter/X logo.
