Code for Open Graph on Canada.ca webpages
There are 2 components to these:
- have good/compelling graphics that are accessible
- have alt tags
You can use a validation service for Open Graph (from Facebook) or Twitter cards (from Twitter).
Use on campaign pages or pages you think people are going to share.
There is Twitter card and Open Graph metadata.
How to use on AEM:
- Determine if it is a news page or a regular AEM page
Instructions for a generic page
- Navigate to the page within the AEM architecture, click on the page (checkmark)
- Open the author page
- Access the properties by clicking on the top left button in and click properties
- Click on additional tab
- Scroll down and you will see the social media section
- Click on the image icon to browse for the image you want to use
- Add the alt text
- Click ‘save’
- Re-publish the page, otherwise the metadata won’t be saved
- Go and do it to the alternate language page
Instructions for a news page
- Click on top-left icon, ADOBE EXPERIENCE MANAGER
- Find the page you want to edit
- Click on the the page (checkmark)
- Open the author page
- Click edit at the top right
- Go to the wrench icon
- Under summary is a social media section
- Fill in the image and alt text
- Re-publish the page
- Go and do it to the alternate language page
When you add metadata under the social media field it will add to both Open Graph and Twitter.
You can verify if something has open graph or twitter card metadata by right-clicking and looking in the metadata.
