Description

This full-day learning experience is designed for employees who aspire to leadership roles and want to build practical skills for future success. Through interactive workshops, networking activities, and mentoring opportunities, participants will learn how to navigate change, develop coaching skills, and think strategically—key competencies for emerging leaders. The day emphasizes applied learning and actionable strategies, ensuring participants leave with tools to influence, collaborate, and prepare for leadership opportunities.

Objectives:

  1. Understand how to lead through change and uncertainty, even without formal authority
  2. Develop foundational coaching and peer coaching skills to support growth and collaboration
  3. Strengthen strategic thinking capabilities to align work with organizational priorities
  4. Build confidence and connections through speed mentoring and networking activities

Session
Leading through change and uncertainty

Description: This workshop explores how individuals can lead effectively through periods of change and uncertainty—regardless of their formal role. Participants will examine common responses to change, build strategies for maintaining trust and credibility, and practice communication techniques that support clarity, resilience, and adaptability.

Coaching and peer coaching

Description: This interactive workshop introduces coaching as a leadership skill and explores how peer coaching can support growth and development. Participants will learn core coaching skills, distinguish between coaching and mentoring, and practice using a simple peer coaching framework.

Strategic Thinking for Emerging Leaders

Description: This workshop builds strategic thinking skills by helping participants connect day-to-day work with broader organizational and government priorities. Through discussion and practical application, participants will learn how to analyze issues strategically, identify opportunities for innovation, and align projects with organizational outcomes.

Speed Mentoring:

Description: Participate in four 15-minute rounds of speed mentoring with experienced professionals.
