Accessibility reports
- If there are any new accessibility reports published we would like to know
- All departments have until the end of December to publish their report
- When you post your report please share the links in the Slack accessibility channel
- As you publish your reports make sure you’re submitting an OpenData record to the Open Government group
- You are also supposed to notify the Accessibility Commissioner
- Heads of Communication message went out this morning about accessibility plans and included links to the accessibility templates, will forward the emails to this community
There is a discussion in Slack about field flow issues with the ESDC A11y feedback form. Keep an eye on that if you have issues.
Department of National Defence (DND)
The Arbour Report will be published shortly. It is the Government of Canada response to the recommendations made by the independent review.
Jobs and Benefits
Added the housing benefit for renters doormat on the housing benefits topic page today (one time payment of $500). Expect 100,000 applications by the end of day today.

Shared Services takes care of sub domains for .gc.ca. Principal Publisher takes care of canada.ca subdomains.
There is an SEO issue if every department just uses “accessibility” in the heading for their accessibility sections. The recommended <title> tag for your accessibility landing pages is: Accessibility at [Institution name].
