Online marketplace tool providing businesses and entrepreneurs easy access to public sector intellectual property, to explore private-public collaborations and turn good ideas into business opportunities.
Part of the National Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy.
Supported by Innovation Canada.
Summer 2022 Initiatives:
- Industry Needs Call-Out: The purpose of this initiative is to increase connections between industry and public sector, with the aims of increasing research collaborations and commercialization resulting from interaction with ExploreIP by collecting a database of industry research and technology needs, and sharing this database with IP-holders to be able to respond if they can meet the needs identified.
- Green Innovation Tag: ExploreIP will add a Green Innovation tag that will highlight technologies that can help Canadian companies achieve the net zero objective faster.
Database currently contains:
62 public sector organizations
+4,800 opportunities
+340 contact requests

Outil de marché en ligne offrant aux entreprises et aux entrepreneurs un accès facile aux PI du secteur public, pour explorer les collaborations entre le secteur privé et le secteur public et transformer de bonnes idées en occasions d’affaires.
Fait partie de la Stratégie nationale sur la propriété intellectuelle (PI).
Appuyé par Innovation Canada.
Initiatives de l'été 2022 :
- Appel aux besoins de l'industrie : L'objectif de cette initiative est de renforcer les liens entre l'industrie et le secteur public, dans le but d'accroître les collaborations en matière de recherche et la commercialisation résultant de l'interaction avec ExploreIP en recueillant une base de données sur les besoins de l'industrie en matière de recherche et de technologie, et en partageant cette base de données avec les détenteurs de PI afin qu'ils puissent répondre s'ils peuvent répondre aux besoins identifiés.
- Tag d'innovation verte : ExploreIP ajoutera une étiquette " Innovation verte " qui mettra en évidence les technologies qui peuvent aider les entreprises canadiennes à atteindre plus rapidement l'objectif net zéro.
La base de données contient actuellement :

+4 800 familles de brevets
+340 demandes de contact
